Appeal to U.N.O secretary general Mr. Ban Kay Mon,
Mr. Bark Obama president of U.S, members of NATO, International human rights.

Introduction to my Home land
My homeland is Sindh which is a land of one of the oldest and greatest civilizations in the world known as INDUS CIVILIZATION. The INDUS CIVILIZATION incorporated all ingredients and ideals of the modern civilization such as equality and justice,  love for curiosity and willing to learn, open to change and ready for the progress. The modern civilization’s main component of secularism and anti to religious extremism could be traced back to the era of king Priest of MOEN JO DARO (5000 old civilization discovered in a part of Sindh). Sophism (moderate version of life based on relation of love and humanity) was first practiced by King Priest and it was later spread to central Asian states and European countries after the attack of ARAYNS on state of MOEN JO DARO. The people who fled to those countries carried with them the philosophy of SOPHISM which later accommodated various elements of Islam, and is now know largely known as a component of Islam rather a creation of INDUS CIVILIZATION. Sophism has influenced the way of life of Sindhies for centuries to make them secular in nature, and anti to any violence and religious extremism. That’s a reason, not a single Sindhi has ever been a religious extremist or ever supported such views based on religious extremism.

NATIONAL MOVEMENT FOR INDEPENDENCE OF SINDH

It is very essential to give background information regarding original and genuine status of SINDH to understand its existing conditions. Before invasion of subcontinent by British Empire in 1843, there existed two independent states: Sindh and Hind. British demolished both of these states by ending the rule of Mughal sultanate in Hind, and Talpur rule in Sindh by annexing these two states into a single unit. However, the geographical position of the subcontinent got a surprising rather a shocking change when two states: India (Hind) and Pakistan were created after the British rule ended in 1947. Hind retained in its original position same as prior to British rule, but Sindh lost its independent status and was forced to join the existing state of Pakistan.
SINDH which was an independent state for centuries and a land of one of the greatest and oldest civilizations of the world is now subservient to the federal law of Pakistan. The tragedy of Sindhis started as soon as Pakistan was created and Sindh was merged into Pakistan. The formula for the partition of subcontinent into two states (India and Pakistan) was based on illogical and inhuman notion which considered only religious affiliation and disregarded linguistic, cultural, and national ties. In this way, Sindh and Sindhies were worst hit by the aftermaths of so called independence in 1947. The Non-Muslim Sindhi were forced to leave the land and migrate to India, and Muslims from different parts were invited to fill in the vacuum created by the mass exodus of Non-Muslim Sindhies. In this way, we did not lose only the independent status of a state but lost the majority as Non-Sindhi were brought in just in the name of Islam.
In the second phase, the Pakistan army and establishment was always poised to punish Sindhies since the creation of Pakistan. They suppressed any difference of opinion or voice for acquiring rights. They resorted to various techniques of torture, harassment, and arresting without warrants to suppress any voice that fought for the rights of Sindh and Sindhies. Since the creation of Pakistan, the resources of Sindh are spent on Non-Sindhies despite that Sindh contributes more than 70% of income to the budget of country, but economic and social conditions of our province are worse than the rest of other provinces. Surprisingly, economic conditions of Sindhies before partition in 1947 were better than what are today.
Pakistan army and its special wing ISI which consists majority of Non-Sindhies has always been instrumental in suppressing any movement which fought for the rights of Sindhi people. Saeen GM Syed, who was a supporter of no-violent movement,   is considered as an icon figure of resistance and a first leader of the movement for the rights of Sindh remained in Jail for 32 years only because he raised voice against injustice done to Sindhies.  JEAY SINDH MUTTAHIDA MAHAZ (JSMM) which is inspired from the non-violence vision of Saeen GM Syed fights to safeguard the rights of Sindhies. JSMM seeks to protect the geographical, historical, cultural, economical sanctity of Sindh by freeing it from the possession of Non-Sindhis (Punjabis). The leader of JSMM , Shafi Burfat  is a fugitive for last 23 years from ISI , and has been forced to remain out of touch and contact from the his people.
 Muzafar Bhutto
I am Saima Bhutto, wife of Muzzafar Bhutto, general secretary of JSMM; Muzzafar is under arrest without any warrant and is not allowed to fight his case in a court.  Muzafar has four brothers.  His elder brother, Mohammad Saleh, is suffering from paralysis after horrible accident.  Muzafar and Sikander are employees in Thermal Power House. Mumtaz is a bank employee.  Shah Nawaz is a student in Sindh University. Having inspired from political vision of Saeen GM Syed based solely on the ideals of secularism and non-violence, Muzzafar began his political career in 1999. To protect the rights of Sindhi peoples, he joined the platform of JSMM as a member. Being an honest and a committed worker, he won the trust of majority of workers and was elected as a general secretary of the party. While he was struggling for the rights on the platform of JSMM, he was being threatened, harassed by the ISI and Pakistan army officials repeatedly. When Muzafar did not bend before the pressure of ISI, they entangled him by registering faked and false cases of blasting railway tracks, and gas pipelines. He was then dubbed as active worker of SINDHU DESH LIBERATION ARMY responsible for bomb blasts.
To pressurize Muzafar Bhutto, ISI resorted to harassing his family members so that he avoid from participating in the movement for the rights of Sindhi. When Muzafar remained steadfast, they arrested his brother Mumtaz and put them behind the bar without any warrant.
Ultimately, they got Muzafar terminated from his job as a sub-engineer at Thermal Power House Jamshoro.  After getting him terminated, ISI with the assistance of CID arrested Muzafar in October, 2005 from a flat of his friend in Karachi.  They did not disclose the arrest of Muzafar for 14 months even after petition of kidnapping was registered in a court. For 14 months, ISI kept torturing Muzafar physically and mentally. They brought him before court after they have registered many cases of crimes, dacoits, terrorism, and holding weapons without license against. These cases were faked and false and were registered when he was under the illegal custody of ISI. Instead of hearing his case in an open court, his trial was carried out inside jail.
Having heard the case of Muzzafar for two years while he was under the custody of ISI and police, the court finally acquitted him of any charge labeled against him. Although the court ordered to free Muzzafar, a month further extension of his arrest was granted from the home department. In this way, they defied the order of court and held him in their custody. In order to free Muzafar, the agitation was initiated by the party workers for his freedom. After protests, demonstrations, Muzafar was finally freed but not without inhuman and brutal torture. They broke his backbone, and dropped him outside the jail on a road in a state of unconsciousness. He was admitted in a hospital for treatment of his broken backbone at the hands of ISI.  The treatment of his broken backbone was left unfinished due to economic constraints, and he left the hospital half way.
While he was not quite fit, he intensified his agitation for the rights of Sindhi by visiting different cities and towns, and making influential speech in front   of huge public. As soon as he restarted his movement, ISI again started harassing my family. As a part of this harassment, police arrested Muzzafar’s elder brother Sikander in a case of murder when a bomb blast took place in town of Kotri during strike called jointly by all national parties of Sindh.  ISI took him away, and kept him in their custody until judicial raid was carried out to free Sikander from an illegal custody of ISI.
The tragedy of my family reaches at the climax when a bomb blast was carried out at our government house in Power house colony at Jamshoro by the ISI officials. This blast resulted in death of Mumtaz, another brother of Muzafar.  Instead of arresting the real culprits, the police registered case against Sikander and Muzafar (Muzafar’s brother), and arrested them via raids and held them in torture cells at army different cantonments.  They spent 11 months in jail, and were then freed on bail from a court. This case is deliberately closed so that the truth should not surface itself.

The tragedy of harassment and torture of Muzafar and his family did not end in there but continued. They got Muzafar terminated from the job, and we were forced to quit the house. To avoid further harassment and torture from ISI, we all family members lived life of fugitives until ISI officials were successful in locating us at Sindh University Employs Co-operative Society (SUEHS) at Jamshoro. They raided our house at mid night and took away Sikkander with them. However, his arrest was not declared so that they could hold him in their illegal custody and could torture him comfortably. As a result of mass protests and demonstration plus petition filed in court against the illegal arrest of Sikander, the first Civil judge Kotri made judicial raid of police station and got him freed from the custody of police. I.S.I through Punjabi DPO farakh Bashir and SHO Niaz Panhwar of Jamshoro Police station,  entered a fake and false case of 13D in which sikandar bhutto has prisoner for one and half month and then released with honour. Against such face and false case we filed a petition against above alleged officers in the session court Kotri but court has refused for hearing due to the pressure and case was filed in pending.

After repeated raids of house, and illegal arrests of family, the feeling of insecurity for the whole family heightened to its peak. Female members remained quite worried, children live a life of fear and danger, and male members expected one or other catastrophe from ISI and Police. The education of children was affected badly as we kept moving house due to fear of ISI and police.
It was 24th February 2011, when another catastrophe fell on us while we were travelling from Sukkur to Hyderabad along with my Husband Muzafar and brother in law Shah nawaz.  At toll plaza New Saeedabad, the officials were already informed of our arrival. They fell heavy on us as soon as we stopped to pay toll, and gathered round us in different police vehicles, and official vans. They, in a blinking of eye, attacked us, and dragged away Muzafar and Shah Nawaz like an animal under attack of wolfs. Muzafar and shah nawaz resisted for a while but they were beaten hard by the heard and crowd of ISI officials. I cried very hard but of no avail. They tortured them in front of me by dragging them on the road, through kicks and punches. They left Shah nawaz half dead and threw unconscious Muzafar in a police mobile and took him away.

To free Muzafar from the illegal custody of ISI, I registered a petition in Sindh High court. The case was initially heard in a serious way which rekindled in me a hope of getting Muzafar back, but it lost its momentum slowly and gradually. I now have a fade hope in court for getting Muzafar free. Because, judges are under pressure from ISI officials to not proceed this case on merit. They have started delaying tactics to lose the momentum of case. They have not conducted any hearing for last three weeks despite my repeatedly asking them to spare/assign date for the further hearing of the case. Now, as usual, we are now threatened by the ISI officials to withdraw from the case or be ready for more horrible consequences. Since we have not withdrawn from the case, the ISI officials are resorting to tactics of harassment. They trace our phone calls, and follow us where ever we go. Last time, my car was hit twice by the ISI officials so that I could feel embarrassed and scared and withdraw from the case. We are in a state of fear, and feel endangered from ISI.

The father of Muzafar died due to constant harassment of the family and arrest and torture of his sons by the ISI. Muzafar’s mother is just live dead body waiting to see his son before her death.
I was called to put forth the case of Muzafar before the committee constituted by Supreme Court to free those people who are under the illegal custody of ISI   but their arrest is not declared. Instead of hearing my case, the committee threatened for the horrible consequences if I did not withdraw from the case. I am thus very thankful to UN and its members who have responded to my repeated calls for the justice for my husband through taking notice of injustice being done to my family and husband. T
The sin of Muzafar is to struggle for his nation, and fight for their rights. His crime is that he loves his people, and struggles for giving them justice. Muzzafar is aware of the facts that Pakistan and ISI issued him warnings many times to eschew from the freedom movement of Sindh. He knows if he continues struggling for his people, he will have to face still more dangerous consequences. These threats and torture cells of ISI can’t stop Muzafar from active participation in freedom movement.
In view of the above facts, I am quite concerned for the life of my husband. I fear ISI will kill him as they killed the previous vice chairman of JSMM Mr. Samiullah Kalhoro.  I thus appeal to UN, Amnesty International organization, all human right organizations, USA, NATO and all powerful countries and civilized nations of the world to come forward to protect the basic rights of Sindhies, and save the oldest civilization based on the ideals of secularism and progress from destruction in the hands of ISI. I request you all to take prompt measure to ensure freedom of Muzafar, and all other workers of JSMM Afzal Panhwar (a student of Sindh University), JSMM Webpage secretary Bashir Ahmed Arisar, Sana Bhatti, Murtaza Chnadio, Sayed Mohsin Shah, Ehsan Malano from the illegal custody of ISI who have held all of them in torture cells. My husband and all workers of JSMM should be allowed to appear in court so that they could fight accusations labeled against them and get freedom from cruel clutches of brutal ISI.

Sincerely

Saima Bhutto
